This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Houston peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My first time trying Rasa, the food was amazing! The staff was very helpful in picking the options. So much flavor in a very large bowl. I tried the chicken and tofu options and they were both delicious. Perfect amount of spice. Will definitely go again! Don't second guess, it's a must try 10/10.

First time here. The food is EXCELLENT. I got jeera rice, chicken tikka, masala, and smoked tandoori drizzle. I'll be back for sure. Highly recommended.

The staff was awesome and made the food 1000 times better. The restaurant is like a lot of bowl/plate restaurants. Pick this, then that, top with stuff. And admittedly the first time I went I wasn't very impressed. I made my bowl my way and it was good, not great. I went back again and this time I asked them to make me a bowl they would eat. Holy crap!!! They went wild and made the best pick a part bowl I have ever eaten. And the. I saw the true potential of the restaurant. The mixing and matching of complementing and contrasting flavors and textures. I clearly had no idea what I was doing the first time. And now I fear most people don't. Is always nice to know that no matter how many different places you eat in different countries you can always be schooled. Must try, but leave your ego at the door and let them take you on their journey.

βRasa is a great place if you enjoy Indian flavors with a modern, Chipotle-style twist. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well balanced not too heavy. Portions were generous and the customization options were excellent. The ambience was clean and inviting, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely a place Iβd come back to. Highly recommended for Indian food lovers.β
